Bringing improv comedy to the city of Richmond
NEW SHOW
Summer Kickoff!
FRIDAY JUNE 20th
7pm-8:30pm
Richmond Arts Centre
We’re cranking up the comedy thermostat with local improv acts that are cooler than your aunt’s famous potato salad. Here’s what’s on deck:
☀️ Opening Act: RITS Youth & Intermediate Student Performers! Kicking things off are the future stars of funny — our fantastic youth and intermediate improvisors! Watch them serve up fresh, unscripted laughs that prove comedy has no age limit… just a curfew.
☀️ Then it’s time for RITS’ newest crew to take the spotlight—Those Types!
You know, THOSE Types. Or, if you’re feeling the heat, THOSE TYPES.
Start with rapid-fire, short-form fun, then watch these improvisors scoop up your suggestions and melt it all together for a built-on-the-spot adventure. What a treat!
☀️ Finally, hold onto your seat (and your sanity) as No Mortgage takes the stage for a world-building improv rollercoaster!
Stick around as No Mortgage builds an entire world out of your suggestions—then dives into it one quirky moment at a time. Their long-form improv format, Pushpins, stitches together hilarious glimpses, oddball characters, and surprise connections. Expect sharp wit, unexpected turns, and scenes that pin themselves into your memory. Your funny bone? Consider it thoroughly poked.
Don’t miss this chance to laugh so hard your flip-flops fall off.
One night only. One stage. 90 minutes of mayhem.

Our Story
Richmond Improv Theatre Society (RITS) started as just a couple of friends who just wanted to connect and make comedy around Richmond. But since its humble beginnings it has become a name stay in the community. From doing fundraisers like Laughter is the Best Medicine, to starting performance groups like TMPImprov, Extra Relish, and Bored of Directors. RITS aims to be the community hub for improv comedy in Richmond by providing equitable access to performances and classes so everyone in the Richmond community can participate. Richmond Improv Theatre Society is proudly supported by the City of Richmond Arts & Culture Project Assistance Grant.
